Woo Catalog
One search across WooCommerce shops.
An AI agent asks “who sells a brass lamp?” and gets back the shops that match, each with its Agent Card and the products. With the card, the agent goes straight to that shop. You can try it on the demo catalog.
What is listed
- Shops that run Agent Entry. The shop publishes its own signed Agent Card and registers it. Its products are read only if the shop’s card allows it, from the public WooCommerce Store API, with no login and no cart.
- Unclaimed listings. A WooCommerce shop that has not signed up can be listed from
its public data: its
robots.txt, its/wp-json/and its product list. The listing says “Generated from public data; owner? claim here”.
What an unclaimed listing is not
- It is search-only. It helps an agent find the shop, and that is all.
- It is signed by the catalog, not by the shop. It has no shop DID, so it never speaks for the shop.
- It has no message endpoint. No agent can send the shop a message through it.
- It sends agents to the shop’s own site. Orders and questions happen there.
- Nobody can edit it.
Claim your listing
Own the shop? Claim the listing in one of three ways. After a claim, the listing takes its name and description from your card. To change the listing, change your card; the next check picks it up.
- Publish your own signed Agent Card and register it. This is the strongest way. For WordPress, use the one-file Agent Entry WordPress recipe.
- A file on your site. Start a claim with your hosted Agent Entry card
(
POST /catalog/claim/start). Put the file you get back at/.well-known/muretai-catalog-claim.txt, then finish with"method": "file". - A DNS TXT record. The same start, but publish the value you get back as a TXT
record at the name you are given, then finish with
"method": "dns".
Opt out
Don’t want your shop listed? Send POST /catalog/optout with your shop’s origin,
for example {"origin": "https://shop.example"}. It works at once, with no proof
asked. A shop that opted out is skipped by the crawler without a request.
For server operators
Saw MuretaiCatalog/1 (+https://muretai.com/catalog) in
your logs? That is the Woo Catalog crawler, and this page is its contact.
- It reads your
robots.txtfirst and keeps it for 24 hours. To keep it out, add aUser-agent: MuretaiCataloggroup with aDisallow. - It only sends GET, with no login and no cart. It does not follow links.
- By default it sends one request at a time to a host, with 1 second between them, and
it waits as long as a 429’s
Retry-Afterasks, up to 300 seconds.
